In January we were lucky enough to run an Ultrasound Symposium featuring some of the best speakers from Clinical and Imaging background. Now these speakers have set up the UK Ultrasound Forum. Chaired by Hatam Atta Peter Good and Tarek El Khashab delegates are encouraged to bring short ultrasound cases to the Forum for discussion.

Michel Puech

Michel Puech Founding physician and co-manager of the Explore Vision Paris and Rueil Malmaison centers. He is an ophthalmologist who specialises in ocular imaging. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the French Ophthalmology Society and a founder of VuExplorer Institute.

DEA in biological and medical engineering (medical imaging) University of Technology of Compiègne. He is former Chairman of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM Ophthalmology) and author and co-author of French and English books and co-author of numerous reports from the French Society of Ophthalmology.

Hatem Atta

Hatem Atta. Mr Atta worked as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for many years. He has sub-speciality interests in vitreo-retinal surgery and ophthalmic ultrasound and is a Fellow with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Mr Atta is the author of numerous ultrasound books and has recently authored e-learning ultrasound modules for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

Rizwana Siddiqi

Rizwana Siddiqi. Riz is a vision scientist with extensive ophthalmology experience across academic, research, clinical, commercial, educational and scientific environments. Her clinical interests include using a wide array of diagnostic methods such as imaging, ultrasound ocular electrophysiology & psychophysical testing.

Peter Good

Peter Good is a Consultant Neurophysiologist employed at the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre and BMI The Priory Hospital. He has more than 30 years experience in OcularElectrophysiology and Ocular Ultrasound, specialising in Standardised Electrophysiology including VEP and ERG, and Ultrasound of the anterior chamber, globe and orbit.

He also specialises in a variety of imaging techniques including OCT and HRT of the eye as well as Visual Fields and Biometry. He has a particular Interest in Paediatric Electrophysiology and Neuro- Ophthalmology as well as Inherited Eye Disease.

Tom Williamson

Tom Williamson

Tom Williamson studied medicine at Glasgow University Medical School, qualifying in l984 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). He subsequently proceeded to train in ophthalmology in Aberdeen, Cambridge, Glasgow and London specialising in vitreoretinal disorders from 1995 to the present day. He is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist with a full time vitreoretinal sub-specialist practice at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London. He has extensive experience in managing patients with disorders of the retina and the vitreous, and performs all types of retinal surgery (with the largest international single surgeon dataset of over 10,000 operations), including new innovative techniques. In addition to this, Professor Williamson also has extensive experience in managing patients with a wide variety of other conditions, including cataracts.

Bertil Eric Damato, MD, PhD, FRCOphth is Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist at Oxford Eye Hospital, appointed in September 2018. He received his undergraduate training in Malta, where he was born, and his postgraduate training in Glasgow, specialising in ophthalmology and ocular oncology at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Western Infirmary. Mr. Damato founded the ocular oncology service at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital in 1993 and directed this service until 2013, by which time it gained international recognition as a centre of excellence. He has recently founded the Ocular Oncology Service at Oxford Eye Hospital and the Eye Cancer Research Fund at the University of Oxford.
